Pet Telehealth Appointments
for Compassionate Vet Care
What Are Pet Telehealth Appointments?
Sometimes, getting your pet to the clinic just isn’t easy – especially if they’re feeling unwell, anxious, or slowing down with age. Pet telehealth allows you to connect with one of our veterinarians, Dr Kaori & Dr Ana, from the comfort of your own home. It’s a safe, supportive way to talk through your concerns, seek guidance, and make a plan that best honours your pet’s comfort and wellbeing.
Now Offering Telehealth Consults
At Horizon Palliative Vets, we understand how precious time with your pet is. Our telehealth appointments are designed to give you reassurance, clarity, and compassionate care without the stress of travel.
Here’s what you can expect:
Video or phone consults – whatever feels easiest for you
Gentle guidance for palliative, hospice, and end-of-life concerns
Welcoming for both new and existing clients
Space for multiple family members to join in, even from different locations
A written summary of the advice and next steps
With your permission, we can liaise with your primary veterinary clinic
Secure, private booking and payment
Flexible appointment times to suit your family
Who Can Benefit from Pet Telehealth Consultations?
Telehealth is especially valuable for families with senior pets, those who struggle with travel, or pets who find car rides and clinics stressful. It’s also a wonderful option for families wanting thoughtful conversations about comfort, quality of life, or planning for the journey ahead. Most importantly, it allows your pet to stay where they feel safest – at home, surrounded by love.
How Do Pet Telehealth Appointments Work?
Book a time. You can call our friendly team on 0434 468 600 to book a suitable appointment time.
Our veterinary team will contact your regular vet (with your permission) to request any recent bloodwork, diagnostic results, and clinical notes, which we’ll carefully review before your appointment.
Settle in. Find a quiet spot with your pet close by.
Connect with us. Our veterinarian will contact you at the scheduled appointment time by video or phone – we'll listen, observe your pet, and talk through your concerns.
Make a plan together. We’ll create a personalised care plan, offering comfort tips, adjustments for daily life, and guidance on when further care may be needed.
After your session. You’ll receive a written summary and resources, and we can arrange follow-up support or an in-home visit if needed.
Prescriptions or referrals. If medication or diagnostics are required, we’ll guide you on the right next step in partnership with your primary vet. Some medications require an in-person assessment under veterinary regulations. If we haven’t physically seen your pet before, we are unable to provide prescriptions via telehealth. In these cases, we will liaise with your regular veterinarian to ensure your pet receives the care they need.
